3 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

The pick up will be arranged from your accommodation in Marrakech, hotel or Riad in the medina, travelling via the famous High Atlas Mountains chain and crossing the Tizi N Tichka pass 2260m, you will be fascinated by the wonderful views of the surrounding landscapes and Berber villages, arriving at the UNESCO world Heritage of the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah where you will be taken on a walking tour to get a hold of its background as well as its history of being one of the most targeted places of shooting many glorious movies such as the Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia… Carrying on through Ouarzazate to reach the Dades valley via the valley of Roses, where you will be spending the first night of your 3-day Merzouga desert tour.

Day 2: Dades – Todra Gorges – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes)

After having breakfast, your driver will take you for another epic journey to one of the main desert destinations in Morocco, Erg Chebbi, also known as Merzouga. You will be stopping in the Todgha gorges where you can walk and wander with a local guide in the palmary or between the canyons of about 300m high; The canyons are a gem of many climbers; you may get a chance to meet the nomad families supplying water in the springs. You will drive to Erfoud before you arrive in the desert area, where you will leave the vehicle and take camels instead to reach the camp, a fun touristy activity yet effective to witness the sunset on your way. Dinner, entertainment overnight inside the dunes in tents.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Early wake up to watch the sunrise over the sand dunes, after you enjoy your breakfast at the camp, you will ride camels back to the Auberge to freshen up and meet up with your driver heading to Marrakech via Ouarzazate. You will cross again the Tizi N’Tichka pass to reach Marrakech where the 3 day Merzouga desert tour ends.
